In short, H 3010 is not good policy because the South Carolina Charter School District creates more bureaucracy.

CER Comments on Indiana Charter Schools Legislation (2013)

CER’s highlights the biggest concerns with Indiana’s HB 1338 and shares with key staffers and leadership in Governor Pence’s Administration.

While there were many good elements of this charter school bill, including the ability of contracts to be multi-charter, changes to funding flow and being able to hold meetings electronically, the fact that it licenses the Indiana State Department of Education to become more involved in the day-to-day operations of charters is truly problematic.
